Theater Groups

“Lively” is a new theater group at FiftyNorth.

We want this to be a chance to try new things, act out some jokes and skits, sing and dance to the music. These will be very interactive shows with the cast involving the audience as much as possible.

Peggy Sheldon and Craig Grunzke will be co-directing with Dave Miller handling the musical side of the productions.

Auditions for the Inaugural show of FiftyNorth’s new theatre Group “Lively” will be held on January 8th from 4-6 PM and January 10th from 1-2:30 in room 103.  The Spring show is a musical revue of growing up in the 50’s and 60’s.  It includes a two-act play written by FiftyNorth’s own Peggy Sheldon, and several short stories of 50’s and 60’s memories.  The focus of the show is music and memories.  There are lots of opportunities for musicians, singers, emcees and dancers.  We are especially looking for women who are willing to form a song and dance group.  So put the 8th or 10th of January on your calendar and join the fun.

The Uppity Women of Shakespeare

The Uppity Women, a reader’s theater group, have grown together over the past years. In that time, we have explored language through works by Shakespeare, Dickinson, Robert Frost, E.E. Cummings and more. Through that exploration we have broadened our literary presentation skills through laughter, storytelling and the sharing of ourselves with one another.
